As we near the end of the church’s financial year (30th September), we want to let you know how we are travelling against budget, and how you can help in ensuring a good end to this year and a good start for the year commencing on the 1st October.
Firstly in relation to this year
We currently estimate that offertory income will fall short of budget expectation by some $10,000 or 8.3% (income now estimated to be $110,000 against a budget of $120,000). And with the cancellation of the Spring Concert, fundraising income is estimated to be short of budget by some $4,000. Some of this is made up by a better than budget performance on the expenditure side, however, we still anticipate on current trends being some $7,000 to $8,000 short by the year end (ie. 30 September). To assist in meeting this shortfall, we are launching a Special Mission Collection during September where we ask you to consider making a one off offering over and above your normal giving. Special Mission Collection envelopes will be made available on the 4th September for placing in the offertory bowl on any of the following Sundays up to 25 September.
For the year ahead
September is also a good month to be thinking about your level of giving for the coming year. Cost of living increase affects us all, the church included, and even a small increase in weekly giving can make a big difference. If you would like to avail yourself of envelopes or Direct Debit giving arrangements, please talk with our Treasurer – Alison Heap.
In closing, thank-you for your financial support and the contribution you have made and continue to make to the life and ministries of our church. May you know the blessings that come from sharing and contributing in this way.
