The end of the year is coming so quickly. Before we know it Christmas celebrations will be past and a New Year beckoning. And so it is good to stop and take a moment to give thanks – to give thanks for the blessings we have received this year from the hand of God – to give thanks for the wonderful gift of Jesus and the transformation his love makes in our lives and the prospect it holds for the life of all people and our world as we await his coming again.
We also pause this morning to give thanks for our children and youth – for the growth they have experienced in the their walk with Jesus this year, to pray for their protection and continued development, and to encourage them in their Christian walk as we present each with a gift. May they continue to grow in their knowledge and love of God and his Son Jesus – our Lord and Saviour.
