I don’t know about you, but hasn’t time flown! It’s hard to believe that four months have passed and Sue and I are finishing our time with you. It’s been a privilege being with you and of sharing in the life of Balwyn Anglican. Thank you.
Its been great enjoying Bob Mitchell’s series on “Transformation”. The inevitability and necessity of change that he reflected on, I felt, was really important. Christians are committed to change. When I look at my life and then remember that John in His letter tells me that one day I’ll be like Jesus, I start to get an idea of the change that will, that must come.
Not all change is hard. Some is really enjoyable and exciting and, yes, some is hard. But don’t be deterred by that. Think of the four friends who brought their paralysed companion to see Jesus, only to find they couldn’t get in to Him. There was no room! Not to be deterred they went and took the roof off!
I don’t know what God’s going to ask you to do in the coming months and years, but whatever it is, don’t be deterred. By the way, I don’t think He’ll ask you to take the roof off! Mind you… !
Friends, remember your namesake, Barnabas, the man who was full of the Holy Spirit and of faith; the man who was an encourager and ask God to give you those same characteristics and ministry…whatever change that may require.
God bless you…as Billy Graham used to say…”real good!”
