Only a week and a bit to go. But there’s still lots to be done – presents still to buy -Christmas cards to finish – last minute arrangements to be made for Christmas lunch – holidays – haven’t even had a chance to think about them.

It wasn’t too different that first Christmas. Roads congested with people traveling to register at their place of birth. Towns full. Accommodation hard to find. Food and a place to eat at a premium.

In the midst of all this a small baby was born in an inconspicuous little town. Angels heralded his coming. Shepherds and wise men came to pay their respects. Yet many were unaware of his birth and life continued with all its hustle and bustle.

This young child however grew up and had such an impact on the world that his birth has been remembered and celebrated ever since. In the midst of the busyness, I pray that you and I would find time to praise and glorify God, for the gift of His Son this Christmas.
