As we His people work for peace

Balwyn AnglicanComment

Friends,

This morning we have the opportunity of remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in war and to give thanks for them and their lives in our service.

We remember in particular the ANZAC’s and yet our hearts also stretch out to those involved in other conflicts and who even now are putting their lives on the line in the service of this nation. We give thanks for them and honour them in our remembering and our prayers for peace.

We are also reminded that Jesus was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for us and gave His life that we might know a lasting peace – with God and with each other. As we put our faith and trust in Him. As we experience the transformation His Spirit brings in our lives and in our world. As we His people work for peace.

May we indeed be these people I pray.
