Another big group this week - and so great to see everyone working well together and getting involved. Big thanks to Danni for helping me out once again! Miriam will be back on deck this coming Sunday 1 March, so groups will be back to the usual older / younger split

Sunday 22 February

Combined Group with Karina

It is not surprising that arguments easily erupt from sinful people. Carrying unforgiveness puts a weight on our hearts that is unbearable. It's like trying to do normal activities while carrying a backpack full of stones (three volunteers tried this, they can testify: you are pulled backwards; your balance is off. It is not easy). Grudges and bitterness can destroy good relationships from the inside out.
We heard another of Jesus' parables about a man who had his million dollar debt cleared, yet who could not forgive another who owed him a small amount. He was severely punished and made to pay back his debt. (Matthew 18:21-35)
The heart of God's message to all people, everywhere, is mercy. Even though we don't deserve it, He forgave us and gave His life for us. He keeps showing us this incredible forgiveness, no matter how many wrong things we do every day, every week, every year. And He wants us to learn to treat others with this same forgiving love. It's a challenge - but forgiveness is always worth it.
Say "I forgive you" and let it go.

Blessings for a safe, happy and Spirit filled week. See you Sunday!
